Welcome to Lifelong Fitness Tips. A fun an interactive environment.

My name is Mike and I am currently a college student studying Accounting. When you don’t find me with my head in the books I’m usually updating my websites or at the gym.

This new Lifestyle Helped Me Go From Chubby To Fit

Back in high school I used to be very unactive, and ate very unhealthy. I never really wanted to be out of shape, but didn’t really know how to or had to motivation to get fit. When I first started college I started to read information about losing weight, and discovered the ‘low carb lifestlye’.

After reading all the information I could on low carb diets I decided to buy the Atkin’s books. It was a slow process for me, but surely I went from 210lb to 180lb in the span of a year and a half. The reason that it took so long was

  1. I had plenty of cheat meals, and did not stay on track most of the time; and
  2. I only did cardio as a form of exercise

As a result I lost a lot of muscle, and not as much fat as I could have. Soon after I started learning about bodybuilding, and weight training. I also learned that I had to change my nutrition. I realized that I had to start incorporating weight training and proper nutrition into my lifestlye if I wanted reach my goals. The nutrition part came easy, and started eating on a 40/40/20 diet (that’s macronutrients of 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fats) The problem – I had no gym membership.

It was time that I needed to get a gym membership. April 2007 I joined the gym, and never looked back.

Why Lifelong Fitness Tips?

I made this blog to help others get in shape, and to have an interactive community where people can share their experiences, and have questions answered.

I also started this website so I could share my experiences about what techniques worked for me (also what didn’t), and reviews of various products that I’ve tried.
